A Novel Direct Optimization Framework for Hypersonic Waverider Inverse Design Methods

Waverider is a hypersonic vehicle that improves the lift-to-drag ratio using shockwave attached to leading edge of lifting surface. Owing its superior aerodynamic performance, it exhibits viable external configuration in flight conditions. Most existing studies on waverider employ inverse design method generate configuration. However, two limitations; inaccurate definition space and unfeasible performance estimation during process. To address these issues, novel framework directly optimize proposed this paper. The osculating cone theory adopted as method. A general methodology define suggested by analyzing curves theory. estimated accurately rapidly via combining high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics solver surrogate model. comparison study shows direct optimization enables more accurate efficient estimation. applied multi-objective problem, which maximizes internal volume minimizes drag. Finally, characteristics for are presented optimized results with data mining methods such K-means.
